5 Arcadia Restaurants You Need To Visit ASAP
Arcadia has become a neighborhood filled with beautiful remodels, wide tree lined streets and a true sense of community. But just like Italy was a 100 years ago, it is really becoming famous for it's food. Some of the largest operators in town are realizing that not only is Arcadia a great place to live, but it has also become a destination to socialize and enjoy/grow friendships.
With many years living in Scottsdale and Phoenix I have come familiar with a lot of these brands, so I want to share my favorite dishes with you and hopefully when you get a chance, you can stop in and take a bite out of Arcadia.
Newly built restaurant by Sam Fox and his impressive brand of restaurants Fox Restaurant Concepts, this old world style restaurant has a lot of modern flare. From the open kitchen, up beat music to the classic wood kitchen table where they hand make ALL their daily pastas. North Arcadia is a place to come, sit, visit with friends or take someone special on a date night. I know my wife always enjoys it when I tell her we are going. To share I recommend a chef's board. They fill a wood plank with fresh salami, cheeses, nuts, olives & pile high bread. My favorite item on the menu is the Chicken Sandwich with smashed roasted potatoes. This is only served at lunch, so get in quick. If you are dining at night, try any of the pasta dishes on the menu. They will not disappoint.
Tucked back within the Neighborhood you will find a true understated restaurant that is doing everything right. Valet Parking is a must as the parking lot is always full, but don't be discouraged, Chelseas has a huge back patio and the staff here does an incredible job serving hundreds of patron's every evening. Open Mon - Sat 11 - 10 and Sun 9:30 - 9, this is the place to be no matter what day of the week it is. I have found myself bumping into famous athletes from time to time or seeing old friends I used to go to school with. Chelseas is a casual environment with a dash of elegance. The open kitchen as you walk in makes you want to eat everything on the menu, but with large portions you must tame yourself. The chips and guac are always a great item to share, and the Howie Burger is one of my favorite burgers around. For brunch I love the Chilaquiles which is a baked tortilla, chicken, egg, ranchero sause and their salsa verde. From the creators of LGO (La Grande Orange) and other local favorites, Chelseas is one of those restaurants you just have to visit to understand. Oh! One more thing... before you walk out after an incredible feast, make sure to lift the cover on the cookie tray by the front door. The complimentary Sea Salt Chocolate Chip cookies are probably the one single item that will have you coming back for more.
Another great creation from Sam Fox and Fox Restaurant Concepts, Flower Child is the little sister to True Food Kitchen. With healthy options like Organic Kale salad, Flying Avocado Wrap and Thai Cashew Quinoa, Flower Child lets you dine and eat while staying healthy and eating clean. I have tried so many of their fresh creations, but my favorite item on their menu is the Rebel Wrap. The Rebel is filled with grass-fed steak, charred onion, port salut cheese, horseradish yogurt and arugula. Based off a fast casual concept Flower Child allows you to order at the counter, take your number and within minutes your healthy creation has arrived. After eating healthy you may need a little treat, so don't worry they've got you covered there too. As a great option for lunch or a light dinner. Flower Child is becoming one of the local favorites.
We've all been there. It's been a long day at work and all you really want is a tasty burger for dinner. Where to go...? Where to go...? The Grind is the ONLY place to go. With award winning food this culinary explosion has something for everyone. From classic Bruschetta, potato wedges, pretzel bites, to healthy salad options and their Coal Fired Burgers. If you've never been to The Grind before you are in for a real treat. Approaching the building you may not be confident that you've found the right place. There are no flashy signs, no oversized patios and even the front door is a little hard to pin point. But, once you walk in, you'll know you've found the right place. With a large bar and comfortable booths The Grind makes you relax and forget about your day. A great place to catch a game or just simply catch up with friends. I've tried many items at The Grind, but there's only one I really need to talk about. It's the SWEET & SPICY BURGER, made with Candied Jalapenoes, Fried Ratatouille and topped with Wild Arugula this is the burger you've been waiting for. You can pare this burger of indulgence with any of their sides and I really recommend washing it all down with one of their Milkshakes. The Kitchen closes daily at 11pm, so make sure to get here before it's all gone!
From an old bank to one of Arcadia's most visited spots, Chestnut has really carved a place for itself beside some of the best restaurants around. Different from most my favorites on this list, Chestnut opens at 7AM and offers a large menu with some amazing creations. Fresh brewed coffee and tea fill the air as you approach the bakery counter, you may see their hand crafted salads and sandwiches being delivered as you review the menu options. All their ingredients are simple, fresh and of high quality. Simple food meets high standards. A great feature of Chestnut is their Catering Menu. If you are throwing a party or need food delivered for an office lunch they have you covered. Their prices are reasonable and their service does not disappoint. My favorite item has got to be their Smoked Salmon and Dill on a Baguette. Fresh, filling and so darn good. Before you leave make sure to check out the flower shop inside of the restaurant. It's a great place to grab a gift or to just surprise your special someone.
I look forward to bringing you more insight into the local food, events and culture of our great cities. Thanks for reading!
